“Let this man be discharged. A. Lincoln"—presidential endorsement four days before his second inauguration, six weeks before his assassination

Exceptional Civil War-dated autograph endorsement signed as president, “A. Lincoln,” one page, 3.25 x 1.75, February 28, 1865. Lincoln’s brief handwritten instruction: “Let this man be discharged.” Double-matted and framed with a portrait photo to an overall size of 10.25 x 15. In very good to fine condition, with light foxing and staining. This crisply penned endorsement dates to just four days before President Lincoln's second inauguration, and six weeks before his assassination by John Wilkes Booth.
