Description

A Ruby bullet—fired from the gun that shot Lee Harvey Oswald

A bullet shot by the actual .38 caliber Colt Cobra revolver, Serial #2744 LW, used by Jack Ruby to shoot Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, in the basement at Dallas Police Headquarters, along with its spent cartridge case. The bullet and casing, identified as part of the 'Owner's Proof Edition,' are mounted in a display with an engraved plaque, photograph, and certificate of authenticity from Anthony V. Pugliese III of the National Historical Mint. Framed to an overall size of 19 x 25. In fine condition.

The certificate reads: "This will certify that this bullet and cartridge case is an authentic .38 special caliber bullet shot from 'The Most Famous Gun in the World,' the Jack Ruby .38 Special Colt Cobra bearing serial no. 2744. One bullet from this gun changed the course of history on November 24, 1963 when Jack Ruby used it to slay Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of President John F. Kennedy. Oswald's dramatic death locked the door to the truth surrounding President Kennedy's death…but unveiled the ever changing theories of conspiracy, theories that have yet to be challenged by even those most visibly identified with this tragic and most dramatic event in history."
