Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey (1713-1779). Revolutionary War–dated engraved New Jersey banknote for "One Shilling," 4.25 x 2.5, dated March 25, 1776, issued as "No. 37937," signed in ink by John Hart, John Johnston, and John Stevens, Jr. Printed in Burlington, New Jersey by Isaac Collins, with the reverse bearing the cautionary message: "'Tis Death to Counterfeit." In very good to fine condition, with overall soiling from use, and some fading to Hart's signature.
