American author (1848-1908) best known for his 'Uncle Remus' stories. Scarce 4.25 x 6.5 mounted album photo of Harris seated in a banker's chair, reading a newspaper with a ring of light overhead, signed on the mount in ink, "Observe the halo! Yours faithfully, Joel Chandler Harris." In very good to fine condition, with light soiling and surface scratches, and minor loss to the bottom corner tips, slightly affecting the last letter of his autograph. Harris is very scarce in signed photographs.
