American author (1848-1908) best known for his 'Uncle Remus' stories. ALS, one page, 4.75 x 7.75, personal letterhead, no date. Letter to Helen C. Robinson, in part: "Your kind letter has interested me very much, especially the transcripts of the Negro songs. Of some I have heard snatches, and they recalled to mind the days of my youth on the plantation." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Harris's hand.
