French revolutionary, political philosopher, and president of the French National Convention (1767–1794) who was a major figure of the French Revolution, serving as the trusted ally of Maximilien Robespierre during the Reign of Terror. Manuscript DS in French, signed “St. Just,” one page, 8.5 x 7.5, October 29, 1793. Untranslated military document concerning supplies to the Army of the Rhine, signed in Strasbourg by Louis Antoine de Saint-Just and his fellow revolutionary Philippe-François-Joseph Le Bas. The document bears an official red wax seal at the lower left, and a "Bibliotheca Lindesiana" stamp at the lower right. In fine condition.
