Description

Significant 21.5 x 16 lithograph entitled "Hebron," published by F. G. Moon of London in 1843 after a painting by Scottish artist David Roberts, from his travelogue suite 'The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, and Nubia'—considered to be Roberts' magnum opus and 'the most ambitious work ever published in England with lithographic plates' (Lithography, 1800-1850 by Michael Twyman). The scene overlooks the city of Hebron, one of the oldest cities in the Levant. Attractively cloth-matted and framed to an overall size of 32.5 x 27.5. In fine condition.
