Description

American financier, philanthropist, and venture capitalist (1844–1909) who became the majority shareholder in the New York Times and supported Thomas Edison's commercial production of the electric light bulb. Partly-printed DS, one page, 10.75 x 6.75, April 9, 1884. Stock certificate issued to Trask for 100 shares of the St. Louis, Alton and Terre Haute Railroad Company, endorsed on the reverse by Trask. Attractively cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 28.5 x 21.5, with a window in the backing for viewing the reverse. In fine condition.
