Description

Handwritten notes by Gordon Cooper, unsigned, no date (early 1960s), annotated before a visit to McDonnell Douglas during his Project Mercury training. The notes, which are penned in blue ink on an off-white 8 x 10.5 notebook page, are headed “Items to Look at at MacDonnell [sic],” and listed as follows: “1. Instrument panels, arrangement vision, availability / 2. Lights / 3. Prisms for viewing [para]chutes / 4. Windows & covers & filters / 5. Pilot escape / 6. Pilot suspension system / 7. H2 O2….provision.” In fine condition, with torn file holes along the left edge. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Paul Hartunian.
