Description

Two TLSs, one as president signed "George Bush," and one as vice president signed "George," both one page, on his 6.5 x 4.25 ‘The President’ stationery card and his 8.5 x 11 ‘The Vice President’ letterhead. The presidential letter, dated April 4, 1991, in full: "Just a quick note to thank you for playing a round with us yesterday. I really enjoyed that course, but I wish that I had read ‘The Art of Chipping’ before I teed it off!” This letter was written to PGA Master Professional golf instructor Bill Davis. He helped President Bush during his round of golf on April 3, 1991 at Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, FL, with Treasury Secretary Nicholas F. Brady, financial advisor William S. Farish, and Golf Digest magazine writer Daniel Jenkins. President Bush’s mother, Dorothy Bush, lived in her pink home by the golf course. The second letter, December 13, 1988, sent to Florida Congressman Bill Young, in part: "Barbara and I are delighted to join your many friends in sending best wishes on your 58th birthday. It is fitting that the gifts collected at this celebration will be donated to All Children's Hospital. This form of charity is typical of you and your dedication, and I know that many, many people will benefit from this party in your honor." In overall very good to fine condition, with a stain to the presidential note from mounting residue on the back. Accompanied by a photo of Bush playing golf on April 3, 1991 with Davis and others, and a photo of the Bushes posing with the Youngs.
