(Walt Disney Studios, 1959) Original production cel of Prince Phillip and Samson from Sleeping Beauty, depicting the heroic character, armed with his ‘Sword of Truth’ and ‘Shield of Virtue,' seated atop his trusty steed, Samson, who is pictured rearing back in terror. The cel, which is slightly trimmed and placed on a color copy background, is marked in the lower corners as “Color Model” and “Prod. No. 2082, Seq. 19, Sc. 10422, Same as 17.” Full character image measures 12.5 x 10.5, with overall dimensions of 15.5 x 12.75. Stapled to the bottom edge of the cel are two 15 x 12 matching Xerox color model sheets, one for the offered production cel, and another for a cel later in the same scene; both Xerox sheets contain handwritten artist notations and directions. In overall fine condition, with slight wear to edges.
