Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17 x 14, February 20, 1883. President Arthur appoints Edward F. Grose as "Postmaster at Ballston, in the County of Saratoga, State of New York." Prominently signed at the conclusion by President Chester A. Arthur, and countersigned by Postmaster General Timothy O. Howe. The gold foil seal and red ribbon affixed at the lower left remain intact. In fine condition. Accompanied by an engraved portrait (featuring a facsimile signature) and a $1 coin featuring Arthur's likeness.
