Governor Mifflin remits a fine for a man guilty of "Fornication and Bastardy"

Partly-printed DS, signed “Tho. Mifflin,” one page, 10 x 15.75, April 25, 1798. As governor of Pennsylvania, Mifflin approves the remission of a £10 fine originally issued to Jacob Conway, Jr., who was “convicted of Fornication and Bastardy.” Signed below the original embossed paper seal in the upper left corner by Mifflin, and countersigned at the conclusion by James Trimble. In fine condition, with faint toning along the folds.
