Very early ALS in Russian, one page, 5 x 6.75, Grand Hotel de la Plage, La Baule letterhead, July 11, 1910. Handwritten letter to Mikhail Dmitrievich, in part (translated): “I beg you not to forget to send me at Stravinsky Chalet, Mauricette La Baule (Brittany) ...my negatives and the issue of the magazine in which my portrait will be published. In anticipation of the fulfillment of your promise, I remain devoted to you.” In fine condition, with scattered light foxing. An exceptionally early letter from Igor Stravinsky penned just days after the first performance of The Firebird, which premiered on June 25, 1910, and became an immediate success, catapulting Stravinsky to international fame. A fabulous early example capturing the Russian composer at a turning point in his career.
