Pope, born Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacello (1876-1958), who reigned from 1939 until his death. During WWII he advanced several peace proposals, did much to aid war victims, and, following the war, maintained a staunch anti-Communist stand. Manuscript apostolic blessing in German, signed "Pius pp. XII," one page, 4.5 x 8, September 29, 1946. An apostolic blessing for Franz Huerth, in part (translated): “We ward at his Golden Jubilee of Ordainment in appreciation of his gracious work on behalf of the Holy Church, as a pledge of the fulfillment of the grace of Christ. With fatherly love, the blessing of the apostles.” A matte-finish portrait of Pope Pius XII is affixed above. Framed and in fine condition.
