Description

Daily official program for the World's Fair or Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis on October 6, 1904, 16 pages, 6 x 9, providing schedules and descriptions for the day's diverse events, to include several parades, agricultural and scientific exhibitions, and concerts. The program also features an advertisement for rides on the original Ferris Wheel, which had been built for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, then transported to St. Louis for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Inside is a two-page map of the Exposition, which includes the “Olympian Way,” and the “Athletic Field” where most of the Olympic events were held. The Exposition played host to that year's Olympic Games, but no Olympic events are listed in the program. In very good to fine condition, with general handling wear and a central vertical fold.
