Scarce original color 23.25 x 32.75 bilingual (French and Dutch) poster issued for the Antwerp 1920 Olympics. Designed by Martha van Kuyck and Walter von der Ven, this classic Art Nouveau poster celebrates the games with the flags of the competing nations, the coat of arms of Antwerp, and a classical Greek nude discus thrower, all set atop an overhead view of the city and its most famous landmark, the Tower of Notre Dame. Bold text reads: “VIIe Olympiade, Anvers (Aout-Septembre), 1920, Antwerpen (Augustus-September).” Printed by J. E. Goossens of Brussels. Rolled and in very good condition, with extensive restorations including repaired paper loss, color infill, creasing, and surface repairs.
