Description

Important German composer (1813-1883) who single-handedly revolutionized opera and attained status as one of the most influential geniuses in the history of music. ALS in German, signed “Rich. Wagner,” one page, 5.25 x 8.25, February 2, 1876. Handwritten letter by the celebrated German composer, referring to Bayreuth magistrate Theodor von Muncker, who played a key role in attracting Wagner's choice of the city as host for his annual festival. In part (translated): "I agreed with Muncker’s concerns so firmly that I sincerely wish to change the editorial team on some points, unless you have significant reasons against our objection." In fine condition.
