Description

American playwright (1888-1953) who occupies a central place in the history of twentieth-century drama. Among his most famous works are The Iceman Cometh, Mourning Becomes Electra, and Long Day's Journey into Night. ALS signed "Gene O'Neill," one page, 6.25 x 9.5, no date. Addressed from Provincetown, Massachusetts, a handwritten letter to Jeannie Begg, in full: “Thank you very much for your note. I was pleased indeed to receive it. And all my best wishes for your future. Keep after Hopkins. Unfortunately there is nothing in ‘The Fountain’ or ‘Welded’ (this latter has only four characters)—but I know there will be sometime.” In fine condition.
