Description

American politician (1745-1823) who served as the 21st Governor of Connecticut. Partly-printed DS, signed “Jno Treadwell,” one page, 12.75 x 7.5, May 14, 1810. As governor of Connecticut, Treadwell appoints Joshua Porter as “of our said State...to be Judge of our Court of Probate, to be holden within the District of Sharon.” Signed at the conclusion by John Treadwell and countersigned by Secretary Thomas Day. The left side retains the original ornate white paper seal. The document is affixed by its top edge to a slightly larger sheet and in fine condition, with two small stains at the top.
