Extremely rare original vintage semi-glossy 6.5 x 8.5 monochrome photo of John Lennon dressed in leather and performing live on stage with the Beatles at Aintree Institute in Liverpool, England, in the summer of 1961. In very good to fine condition, with light creasing, scuffing, and edge wear. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and by a signed certificate of authenticity from Ron Jones, the author of the best-selling guidebook, The Beatles’ Liverpool, who states that he obtained this photograph in a lot of two others from Sotheby’s in the 1980s: “The Beatles played [Aintree Institute] on 31 occasions between January 1961 and January 1962. It is likely that these photographs were taken on either the 28th October or 11th November, 1961, or 27th January 1962, their final appearance at this venue.”
