Letter to Carolina Nuvolari, the widow of motorsport legend Tazio Nuvolari, in part (translated): "I thought I'd write to tell you that I've read everything they've written about Tazio. I think that know one, perhaps, knew him as I saw him. I have therefore decided to write, in the near future, and publish a memoir that talks about him; not of the driving master because his was not a school but a sublime expression of inimitable life. Only the day an athlete with an Italian heart like yours, Tazio, will be born can he be imitated." He goes on to refer to his "mystical belief in the heroic beauty of a sport that summarizes all the passions and all the virtues of our life." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing. Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari (1892-1953) was called by Ferrari's rival, Ferdinand Porsche, 'the greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future.' Here, Ferrari poetically expresses similar sentiments to the late driver's widow, Carolina. A remarkable letter connecting Enzo Ferrari to his greatest racer.
