Original pencil sketch of a man dressed in drag, headed "La Cage Aux Folles," with "Ha!" written several times below, accomplished by Prince on a 7.75 x 10.5 sheet of notebook paper. Prince's extravagant sketch is evidently based on the 1978 French comedy La Cauge aux Folles [Birds of a Feather], which follows a gay couple operating a drag nightclub in a French resort town; interestingly, the film was nominated for the Oscar for Best Costume Design—perhaps serving as inspiration for some of Prince's own gender-bending designs. In fine condition.
Consignor notes that this was acquired directly from the PRN employee charged with the maintenance of Prince's Paris residence.
