Prince's iconic stage-worn custom-made chain hat from the 1993 Act II Tour of Europe, featuring a black military-style hat with eleven hand-sewn chains hanging from the brim and a metal 'Love Symbol' emblem on the front, like the one he made famous in the 'My Name is Prince' video. Prince is also seen wearing a similar hat in Herb Ritts' classic 1991 photoshoot. The hat band is secured by two metal buttons emblazoned with an old English-style "P." In very good to fine condition, with evidence of wear from use (some staining to the inner sweatband). Accompanied by its original Pro-Tuff Uniforms protective cover.
Consignor notes that this is one of few original chain hats ordered in 1991 by the Paisley Park wardrobe department. This one in particular was worn on stage during the Act II Tour of Europe, which included Prince’s first and only show at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London. The tour featured six English dates, culminating in a dramatic show at Wembley Arena on September 7th: to close the tour, Prince was held aloft and carried off-stage to feign his death, representing his rebirth under the 'Love Symbol' as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.
