Boldly signed partial Massachusetts military document from Governor John Hancock

Partial partly-printed DS as governor of Massachusetts, one page, 7.75 x 11, 1784. The right side of a Commonwealth of Massachusetts military document, appointing an unknown soldier as a "First Lieutenant of the Sixth Company…in the third Regiment of Militia in the County of Lincoln.” Signed prominently at the conclusion in bold ink by John Hancock. Impressively custom-matted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 17.25 x 20.75. In very good condition, with edge tears, light staining, scattered light foxing, and small areas of paper loss; Hancock's signature remains virtually unaffected by any flaws.
