Innovative and highly regarded jazz pianist (1929-1980) who worked briefly with Miles Davis before forming his own trio in the late 1950s. Plagued by a decades-long struggle with hepatitis and drug addiction, Evans died at the age of 51. The consignor notes that the album was signed during Evans' tour of Japan in September 1978.
