DS, 75 pages, 8.75 x 11.5, July 6, 1954. Comprehensive film contract between Twentieth Century-Fox and Clark Gable, with the latter agreeing to star in the “production of three (3) Class ‘A’ motion pictures of feature length, to be commenced on or before ten (10) years from and after the commencement of the term of this Agreement.” Signed on the last page in black ballpoint by Clark Gable. An included 7-page ‘Special Provisions’ packet with an amendment date of March 30, 1955, lists two of the three films: “Soldier of Fortune (picture completed)” and “The Tall Men (started April 11, 1955).” In fine condition, with heavy wear to the covers. Upon review of Gable’s filmography, it appears that the actor never did complete the third and final film of his contract. The completed 1955 films — Soldier of Fortune and The Tall Men — costarred Gable opposite Hollywood actresses Susan Hayward and Jane Russell.
