French composer of the late Romantic period (1848-1933) who is best known for his 17 melodies (‘art songs’), with texts by poets such as Baudelaire, Gautier, Leconte de Lisle, and Goethe. ALS in French, signed “H. Duparc,” three pages on two adjoining black-bordered sheets, 5 x 8, 1906. An untranslated handwritten letter from Henri Duparc to Spanish pianist Ricardo Vines. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original hand-addressed mailing envelope.
