Description

American engineer, inventor, and an early computer and Internet pioneer (1925-2013) who is best known for his work on founding the field of human-computer interaction, particularly while at his Augmentation Research Center Lab in SRI International, which resulted in the creation of the computer mouse, and the development of hypertext, networked computers, and precursors to graphical user interfaces. These were demonstrated at the now-historic The Mother of All Demos in 1968. Rare signed book: The Engelbart Hypothesis: Dialogs with Douglas Engelbart by Valerie Landau and Eileen Clegg. First edition. Berkeley, CA: NextNow Collaboratory NextPress, 2009. Softcover, 5.25 x 8.25, 139 pages. Signed on the title page in black ballpoint, "Douglas Engelbart, July 22, 2009." In fine condition, with two cup ring stains and a small area of surface loss to the front cover.
