American artist and author (1908-1996) who wrote and illustrated some 20 children's books, known for his celebrations of cultural diversity. His 1950 book Song of the Swallows won the Caldecott Medal. Vivid original painting of parents and their child accomplished in watercolor by Politi on an off-white 6 x 8.5 sheet, signed in the lower right in paint, "Leo Politi." In very fine condition.
