TLS, one page, 7.5 x 9.75, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, June 14, 1955. Letter to Danish-American actor Jean Hersholt regarding a trip to Denmark, in part: "I have just been in touch with the State Department, and have made the final arrangements for our trip to Denmark. When the Department found that I was going to Copenhagen, they inquired through our Ambassador at Helsinki if I would fly there to attend the American Days Celebration from the 21st to the 25th of June. It was thought that it might be helpful for me to visit with some of the Finnish people. We have now adjourned our Term of Court, and it is possible for me to do that, so we are flying from New York to Finland Monday, June 20th. After seeing the Midnight Sun and attending this affair on the 25th, we are going over to Norway for two or three days, and will arrive in Copenhagen on Scandinavian Airlines on June 30th." Matted and framed with a small portrait to an overall size of 122.5 x 14.75. In fine condition.
