Interesting letter in which the future John Paul II comments on "Queen Jadwiga of Poland's beatification process"

TLS in Polish, signed “Karol card. Wojtyla,” one page, 5 x 3.25, no date. Brief letter to a lady, in part (translated): "God bless you for your letter of 17.IX and enclosed donation for the sanctuary. Thank you for the prayers in my intention and Queen Jadwiga of Poland's beatification process." Mounted, matted, and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 8 x 10. In very good condition, with overall soiling and creasing. Queen Jadwiga, also known as Hedwig, was the first woman to be crowned as monarch of the Kingdom of Poland, reigning from 1384 until her death in 1399; she was venerated in Poland throughout the ensuing centuries, beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1986, and canonized in 1997.
