Two ALSs, both signed "O. W. Holmes," one page, 4.5 x 7, dated at Boston in 1864 and 1893. The Civil War-dated letter, April 29, 1864, in full: "I will send you two or three volumes with autographs for the N. Iowa Sanitary Fair with much pleasure"; and the second, March 29, 1893, in full: "It is with much pleasure that I accept the title of Honorary Member of the Theatre of Arts and Letters which has been conferred upon me." In overall fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned engraved portrait.
