Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of the Russian opera singer in a profile pose, boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "A mon cher ami Sacha Guitry, avec admiration et sentiments profonde, F. Chaliapin, 1927, N. York.” In very good to fine condition, with light wrinkling along the bottom, and the photographer's credits inexplicably scratched off in the lower left corner. Sacha Guitry (1885-1957) was a leading actor, director, and playwright in Paris in the early part of the 20th century. A desirable association piece.
