Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 14 x 9.25, December 30, 1822. President Madison grants Bowling Brown a tract of land containing "One hundred and Sixty Acres…at Jeffersonville." Signed at the conclusion by President James Madison and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office John McLean. The white paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In fine condition, with light soiling, and slight fading to the handwritten portions of the document.
