First mortgage bond for the Selma Marion Memphis Railroad Company in the amount of $1,000, signed at the conclusion by Nathan Bedford Forrest as the company’s president. Additionally endorsed on the reverse by Governor William Hugh Smith of Alabama. The bond retains 30 of its coupons. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and a trimmed top edge.
