Description

Desirable free-franked address panel, 5.75 x 3.25, addressed and dated in another hand, "Quincy, Ma., May 10th, Honble. Judge Cranch, Alexandria, District of Columbia," and franked by the elderly statesman, "J. Adams." The reverse retains fragments of the letter to Cranch, penned in an unknown hand. In fine condition, with chipping to the edges. Judge William Cranch was Adams's nephew, whom he appointed to a federal judgeship in 1801.
