(Walt Disney Studios, 1933) Original production drawing of Mickey Mouse from the animated short Mickey's Mellerdrammer, which depicts Mickey holding a length of rope during the stage production of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 9.5 animation paper marked "38" in the lower right corner. Image measures 4 x 5. In fine condition, with a tear to the right edge and a nick to the upper left corner. Today, Mickey's Mellerdrammer is considered controversial as it is essentially a take-off on a minstrel show, and Mickey—as seen here—is dressed in blackface.
