ALS signed “Charles,” one page both sides, 7.25 x 9.5, Prince of Wales memorandum letterhead, November 15, 1981. Handwritten letter to Lady Marre, alluding to the recent announcement of Princess Diana's pregnancy in the closing lines. In part: "Thank you so much for your letter…I would be willing for the fund to pay the full cost if you get an application for one of these vehicle conversion. I think it would be a good thing to do…I like the idea of asking Donald Dempsey to suggest an organisation in the north to supervise the mobile holiday home project if the fund pays for it…I think it would be splendid if the fund could provide money to buy necessary equipment for the M.S. research projects. This would probably be preferable to paying salaries...Thank you so much for your kind congratulations. We are so thrilled." In fine condition. On November 6th, Buckingham Palace announced the pregnancy of Princess Diana—this would be Prince William, born June 21, 1982, then second in the line of succession to the throne. A desirable comment on a momentous royal occasion.
