Vintage matte-finish 9.75 x 13.75 seated photo by Louis Fabian Bachrach of explorer Richard E. Byrd taken the year of his transatlantic flight, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Oct. 12, 1927, To Mr. Bachrach, with best wishes, R. E. Byrd.” In fine condition, with lightly trimmed borders. A highly appealing portrait of Byrd, signed three months after his famous flight and presented to a pioneer of portrait photography.
