French-born American industrial designer (1893-1986) who achieved fame for the magnitude of his design efforts across a variety of industries. Among his designs were the Shell, Exxon, TWA and the former BP logos, the Greyhound Scenicruiser bus, Coca-Cola vending machines and bottle redesign, the Lucky Strike package, Coldspot refrigerators, and the Studebaker Avanti. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 head-and-shoulders photo of the design icon, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Ralph T. Dostal, Cordially, R. F. Loewy, 1957.” Framed and in fine condition, with some skipping and fading to the handwriting.
