Very rare original Johnny Ramone clock face insert design created by artist Andy Gore, measuring 8.5″ in diameter and featuring an image of Johnny playing his Mosrite Venture II guitar in a full-length pose surrounded by blue numerals with a pin head fanboy to his immediate left, signed and inscribed to his friend, Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage in blue ink, “To Nick, ‘Gabba Gabba Hey,’ Johnny Ramone.” In fine condition.
After retiring from the Ramones and moving to Los Angeles, Johnny Ramone became close friends with many like-minded Hollywood celebrities, including Nicolas Cage. During that time, Andy Gore and Johnny Ramone teamed up to create unique gifts for Ramone to give out at his annual Christmas party. One such gift was an official Johnny Ramone clock face that would be personally inscribed by the punk rocker to one of his or Gore’s friends, with this example reserved for Nicolas Cage. Typically, after receiving the signed artwork, Gore would then assemble the clock and return it to Ramone. ‘This autographed clock face personalized to Nicolas Cage was, for some reason, one of the items that got lost in the shuffle. I thought it would be a nice gesture to get this personalized clock made and sent to Cage, but after a couple of years of trying to contact him directly, I finally gave up.’
