Manuscript DS, one page, 12 x 15, January 7, 1840. As governor of Tennessee, Polk grants Zebulon P. Dearing and Andrew Brown "a certain tract of or parcel of land containing one hundred and seventy four acres…on the waters of Corn Creek." Boldly signed at the conclusion by Governor James K. Polk. In good to very good condition, with old tape stains and repairs to splitting along the intersecting folds, and a bit of ink erosion to the paraph.
