LS in French, signed “Le Card. de Richelieu,” one page, 9 x 13, July 6, 1627. Letter to the Prince of Orange, in part (translated): "As Mr. Douchant is visiting you I did not wish him to set out without assuring you by these lines of the continual love I have for your service. He will bear witness of the King's kindly feelings toward your countrymen & the esteem in which he holds you in particular. The proofs that you will have when His Majesty has an opportunity will clearly show you the truth of this." In fine condition. A significant diplomatic letter signed by the influential Cardinal Richelieu while serving under King Louis XIII.
