Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “J. Q. Adams,” one page, 14.25 x 9, March 5, 1825. President Adams grants Stephen Elliott of Charleston, a tract of land "containing one hundred and sixty acres and forty two and a half hundredths of an acre of the Lands directed to be sold at Cahaba." Signed at the conclusion by President John Quincy Adams and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office George Graham. The lower left bears the original white paper seal. In very good condition, with multiple intersecting folds, scattered stains, and areas of old adhesive residue.
