World light heavyweight boxing champion (1878-1942). O'Brien was inducted into the Ring Magazine hall of fame in 1968, the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1987, and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Philadelphia Jack O'Brien seated thoughtfully in a wooden chair with an open book, signed and inscribed in dark fountain pen, "To: My admirer, Tom Tabacch, Best wishes, Phila Jack O'Brien, July-13-29.” In very good to fine condition, with light silvering to the darker areas of the image, and a missing upper left corner tip.
