Beautiful vintage ballpoint signature, "James Dean,” on a light green 3.5 x 1.5 sheet trimmed from an album page, which was dated by the original recipient to May 1, 1955. In fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "NM-MT 8." Accompanied by a glossy photo of the Hollywood legend.
On March 26-27, 1955, just before filming began on Rebel Without a Cause, Dean competed in his first professional event at the Palm Springs Road Races, which was held in Palm Springs, California. He died in a car crash roughly six months later when he was traveling to a sports car racing competition in Salinas.
