Friedman of Camp Springs, Maryland, in full: "I am taking this first opportunity of thanking you for your generous words of greetings on my recent nomination." In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, and three small dings to the left edge. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Held on April 23, 1974, the 1974 Israeli Labor Party leadership election saw Yitzhak Rabin defeating Shimon Peres to succeed Golda Meir as the party's leader. It was the first of four leadership contests in which Rabin and Peres challenged each other (followed by the February 1977, 1980, and 1992 leadership elections).
