Three scarce 'Texas Welcome' items: an original one-page broadside program for the 'Texas Welcome Dinner' which was to be held at the Municipal Auditorium in Austin, Texas, on November 22, 1963, 8.5 x 14, listing the speakers for the event and featuring images and facsimile signatures of honored guests John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and John B. Connally; a souvenir program booklet for the 'Texas Welcome' dinner to be held at the Municipal Auditorium in Austin, Texas, on November 22, 1963, 8.5 x 11, 16 pages, containing brief biographies of the guests plus local advertisements; and a 7 x 9.75 invitation for the dinner, scheduled for November 22, 1963, at 7:30 PM. In overall fine condition. President Kennedy was en route to the Dallas Trade Mart when shots rang out over Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963. That evening, he was scheduled to speak at the 'Texas Welcome' dinner, a fundraiser organized by the State Democratic Executive Committee on the final stop of the president's tour of Texas. With the president assassinated, neither event would take place.
