Outlaw and train robber (1871-1937) who was the youngest of the brothers that made up the legendary Dalton Gang of the Old West. He was sentenced to life in prison after an attempted bank robbery in 1892, but was pardoned 14 years later, after which he became a reformed, respectable member of society. After moving to California to work in real estate, he also embarked on a career in the arts, capitalizing on his notoriety to publish books and begin a career in Hollywood.
